NEW TOWN KINGS – SINGLE REVIEW

New Town Kings – Borderline

New Town Kings - Borderline

Release Date: Out Now

Essex Reggae collective New Town Kings are bringing the socio-political roots of ska back to the fore on new track ‘Borderline’. The twist now, however, is that the refugee crisis, the frontiers and the fences are in the faces of cosy Europeans, right in their back gardens in fact. Musically, the skank is tight, the horns forlorn and the drums pop and bounce suitably but as much as the music gets this in to your heads, it’s the message that’s more important here. New Town Kings are not your average party Reggae band, these guys are channelling the original spirit of Bob Marley and the British city vibe of the Specials to create a fully rounded and impactful sound.
