Cornish upstarts Ennor are getting us in the mood for warmer
times with new single ‘Farewell to Atlantis’ and, although it might be a bit
early, it gives you time to learn all the words before the Summer. There’s a
carefree indie-pop vibe to this that would see these guys slot nicely on to a
bill with George Ezra, Scouting for Girls and the Magic Numbers on a sunny
afternoon with the cider flowing. The musicianship is tight, that’s undeniable,
but it’s when the chorus drops and the vocal harmonies wash over you like warm
Cornish surf that you get the real value out of this. Throw in a folky tinge
and four lads who are still enjoying playing music as a bunch of mates on you’re
on to a winning combination.
