COSMO SHELDRAKE – SINGLE REVIEW

Cosmo Sheldrake – Wriggle (Transgressive/Tardigrade Records)

Cosmo Sheldrake - Wriggle

Release Date: Out Now

If this was a track by a New York Hip-Hop star is would be listed as Cosmo Sheldrake feat. A Nightingale from Kent + Koto Drums. As it is, Master Sheldrake couldn’t be more English and the featured artists are just two of the myriad noises employed on fantabulous new single ‘Wriggle’. I’ve had this one on a bit of a loop all day and it’s the perfect tune for a bit of a kitchen dance or just to lift your spirits on an uneventful week day afternoon. I mean, the aforementioned instruments are joined by a contra bassoon, flutey flutters, marching beats and Sheldrake’s ever so eccentric vocal delivery but that’s only half the story. You see, this is a party piece and the call to arms is a chorus that pleads; “go down, let’s go down, let’s go down don’t you wanna go down? Get a wriggle on, have a sing along, put some pickles on and play the mellotron”. Who could resist a party like that? Not I, sire, not I.
