WHYTE HORSES - SINGLE REVIEW

Whyte Horses – Empty Words (CRC Records)

Whyte Horses - Empty Words
There is something wonderfully timeless about the new single from Whyte Horses but it’s also entirely other worldly. Essentially, ‘Empty Words’ is a two and a half minute prog-folk-indie meander with Phil Spector on production duties and First Aid Kit’s Japanese tour diary for inspiration. The lush arrangements are paired with the fragile beauty of the soft vocals and it works so beautifully that you have to give this three or four listens before you start to get to the core of what it’s about. A many layered thing of beauty, then, like particularly symmetrical and shiny red onion.

Live Dates:

13th September – Royal Festival Hall, London
