Now, Don Broco are a band I’ve been aware of for a while now but I’d never clocked that they were from Bedford, the home of the small van. Nevertheless, Don Broco know how to rock hard and new single ‘T-Shirt Song’ is a joy to behold. The bulldozer guitars kick in from the word-go and flatten everything in their path leaving a deep, deep groove in their wake. The gentle vocals and lyrics of “I take my T-shirt, swing it around my hand”, however, would normally be found hanging around an indie-pop song with some dance intentions. Put these two vibes together and you’ve got yourself something approaching an anthem with the power of Royal Blood and Turbowolf but the pop chops of Incubus and Biffy Clyro when it comes to writing audience pleasing melodies. Nice work.
