THE SURVIVAL CODE – SINGLE REVIEW

The Survival Code – One
The Survival Code - One

Release Date: 20th January 2017

I could start this review by telling you that The Survival Code are a London based trio fronted by Dubliner Gary McGuinness but instead I’d like to draw your attention to this marvellous press shot that looks like the band have fallen out with each other but have to stay in the same place until their tourbus comes back to get them. Whatever the story, new single ‘One’ finds the band seeing past their differences to create an urgent and brooding piece of indie rock with squalling, choppy guitars and drums that roll like the galloping hooves of apocalyptic horses. I’m fairly sure that the likes of Metallica will feature pretty heavily in the record collection of The Survival Code but they’ve taken some of the best bits and freshened them up for 2017 with slick production and a real sense of purpose.

Live Dates:

14th January – The Camden Rocks All-Dayer, Proud w/The Velvet Hands + The Silver Bayonets + Circa Never and more.
