First of all, I'm fairly sure eggs (lovely or otherwise) and onions (magic or otherwise) are not a good combination, digestively speaking, so y'all might need to open a window while I digest this latest single from the infamous Lancastrian duo. 'Magic Onion' is a northern flavoured packet of psychedelic crisps with a Phil Spector wall of noise built around a droning guitar, slamming drums and hypnotic vocals. There's never been a doubt that the Lovely Eggs are as lo-fi as they come but the combination of the Fall, White Stripes, the Mighty Boosh and the Stooges is so utterly joyous that you really would be foolish to resist the persistent, endless waves of distortion that crash on your mental shores to eventually turn the solid rock of your brain in to a million sandy pieces of fragmented sanity.
