I reviewed this Gateshead trio a
few months ago and something stuck in my memory about them, oh the irony, in a
positive way. This new single, 'Mug', is not an ode to the best thing to drink
tea out of but is instead a Muse inspired piece of distorted groove rock with a
healthy dose of cowbell thrown in just to keep your attention. This isn't the
best song I've heard in the last month but there is a certain raw charm to the scratchy
guitars, thudding drums and basic production quality wrapped around the North
East accent vocals that just catches you off guard and worms it's way in to
your affections.
