There is something strangely
reassuring about finding out that a rock band hails from the midlands so when
the Grease obsessed rockers Burn Down Rydell reveal that they were forged in
the belly of Wolverhampton I immediately dusted off my air guitar. The band's
new single, 'Fight', also features Fred Mascherino of Taking Back Sunday and
is, well, American sounding. From the video shot in the midst of an ice hockey
game to the slick, Fallout Boy esque riffs and harmonies this is a tune tailor
made for our American cousins. There's melody, a catchy chorus hook and about
the same level of power that the likes of Feeder or Everclear would put out but
I can't help feeling like this is a little disappointing having set myself up
for a huge slice of heavy rock. That's my problem, though, not theirs.
