PELUCHE - SINGLE REVIEW

Peluché - Ohio (RIP Records)
Peluché - Ohio

London ladies Peluché (roughly translated as soft toy or bit of fluff) have a new single for your ears in the shape 'Ohio'. This four and a half minute offering from the trio starts off with a gorgeously Paul Simon in the 80s bass line layered up with the pop nous of the Noisettes and Laura Mvula and the scratchy, indie guitars of early Arctic Monkeys or a young Strokes. Throw in some gorgeous vocal harmonies and a cheeky sense of child-like fun and you have a genuinely refreshing and entertaining indie-pop single that doesn't take itself too seriously which was at the top of my Christmas list so I'm a happy boy. It's kinda like Bananarama but with guitars and better percussion.
