When a bunch of lads from
Coventry takes photos of themselves topless with gold glitter on their faces
and profess to making dark disco then you know you're in for a treat. And what
a treat 'Celina' is!? A poppy bassline,
Orientally inspired guitars and disco drums all come together to create
something between Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem and Transformer with a hint of
Bowie at his most experimental and Talking Heads at their kookiest. This is
indie-disco in its most literal form and it straddles the line between
super-cool and accessible fun perfectly. An underground success at the very
least.
